A Poem by Laura E. Aranda
"

Be careful what you wish for

"

I have wished to know why the stars shine

This has been my life, I found it worth living

Just unceasingly gain knowledge about the stars

Forever away...or so I thought

Imusthurrynowwiththiswarningofsorts

My very curiosity birthed within the core of my soul

Has become an attainable feast the Night Sky craved

Its hunger abound so mightily that the Night Sky lured others

Just like me close and closer until our wonderings and dreams

...and alas, our very breaths were devoured by its unappeasable appetite

I have wished to know why the stars shine....

Now I, too am one, yes, one of those brightly shining souls in the cold cloudless Night air

Hanging by a thread, suspended for all eternity

Be careful what you wish for, dear wanderlustful fellow

Be careful what star twinkles in your eye

What a unique and intriguing slant on "wanting to know why the stars shine"

"......Its hunger abound so mightily that the Night Sky lured others

I loved this stanza particularly. I've never looked at the "darkside" of "the stars" before.
Well this has got me thinking and now I WILL be careful of what I wish for! (Especially
now Halloween is upon us) LOL

Great poem...loved it. Thanks for keeping the dream alive my friend ~ Helena

What a unique perspective. Very creative. We always think of stars as being of good nature -- not otherwise. Reaching for stars -- only to find they weren't our friend after all. Wow. Nice work!

This is amazing... I have always felt a connection with the stars and moon, maybe cause I am a night person and you are so right sometimes a bright shining star could be out to burn you... very cool!!

Ok so the next time there is a cloudless sky and the stars are shining I wave at you. I think I am gonna recognize the most sparkling and shining of stars ...

Yes, but just think about the wondrous light you are shining on those below you, looking up at you with wonder.
Then again...
