Past This Face

Past This Face

A Poem by Laura E. Aranda
"

Thanks Rock and Roll Cowboy for inspiring this piece...HA!

"

If you could just get past this face

Try to advert your gaze

Don't  look too long at my nose

See into my eyes, some say are the windows of my soul

Pools of ebony orbs echoing my sadness from rejection

Just look past who I am on the outside

Some might think this body is sexy in a gothic manner but you

What do you think?

I am actually a passionate kind of guy

Not scary at all

I would stomp on any roaches for you

Clean out dirty sinks with my bare hands

I could trim your Christmas tree and lace your bedroom suite in satin

I am actually quite romantic

Let me have a good drink once in a while and I am all yours

You would be more than morbidly fascinated by what I am capable of

If you would but just give this monster a chance

Sure, I don’t know for sure who my parents are and I hope I don’t have any brothers but

A family is all that I desire…

Just give me a chance to hold you and cradle you in these massive arms and I know you won’t want

To let go……

If you could just see past this face

First off I am glad when i can inspire someone... and let me say I think it is fantastic what you did with this piece, the message once again is one that has been around forever but really is true, beauty is only skin deep. Beauty won't make a relationship last, I am amazed at how you got such an incredible piece out of that pic but then again I am not cause you are a fantastic writer.

I am taken back by the purity of this piece. If this is fantasy I am even more blown away but I took this piece for reality. What an amazing write and so honest and passionate. I enjoyed the flow, creativity and the heart of you.

This poem made me smile. Is it me, or do other women tend to look past the looks anyway? I don't know. I love this guy you've created though. lol

Nice job. I loved this poem. Good Rock and Roll inspired you. Also, I love the font. I truly agree, society is so stuck on beauty and image, when a person's soul is more immesaruble. then that.

I will be honest and say that I laughed BUT! only because I know that person you speak of and your poem described him amazingly accurate. I'll make sure he reads this so he can stop thinking about what others think and just go out, have fun and live life. thanks again..
