As you know, I was greatly taken with your poem. So much so that I rewrote the poem in my own style and sent you a copy by private e-mail. With your encouragement, I now post it here. This was a very fine poem, Lea. My words in no way compete or devalue your fine efforts. They only compliment them. In that spirit, I offer my version of your excellent work.
Kindest regards,
Rick
"Always remember"
...with kudos and greatest respect to Laura Aranda
Cast all your cares on me
My treasures are more than mortal happiness or worldly gain
Eternal life is available to 'whosoever will come...'
The Fools Gold of this vaporous breeze of life may lure
But the mansions of heaven made for you are pure
The way to heaven is clear, though the road narrow
Warriors I do not seek in my children, I call you simply to follow...
Partake of my name, a free will sacrement
Piety and mercy shall spring from my mouth as refreshing, life-saving water
For I am the One, the way to everlasting truth and peace

This is another fine piece of writing. It is very touching and does a nice job in delivering your message of faith. Each of us can have our own different beliefs, but one can clearly appreciate when there is an elegant outpouring of kindness and conviction.
For this one, I am perhaps not out in left field. I was a Roman Catholic. I was a Reluctant Catholic. I am a Recovering Catholic. RC all the way, baby! I am not an atheist. I believe in a Higher Power. It is a Higher Power of my own choosing, and it has evolved into quite a convoluted mess at this point. The thing that I believe is most important about this particular piece, and in general in regards to my thoughts on J.C. - is simple. Even if you do not believe in J.C. as the Son of God, for there are religions that believe he existed but that he was a prophet, is there any doubt that the message was a message of a better way? Too many people get caught up in the who and forget what was being said. They focus on a being, forgetting all about the Will and the Grace. He was not trying to sell us a used Dodge. So for those that might read this, and think blah - blah - blah - they need to think about the message, and think about whether they can still so easily go blah - blah - blah. The message was a good one, and it still is. As is this reminder of that... thank you for sharing this Laura.
"Warriors, my children do not have to be" I love this parte as for my children (all adults now) i have educated them to hate and refuse pick up any weapon and act as a robot to anyone ordering around! :)
Laura, this is such a transporting poem, and left my heart swimming,
the imagery and emotional mix combine with endearing effect,
as well as the perfect tittle, overall, I loved the spirited ambition,
the uplifting effect that the meaning presents, beautifully done.
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I'll meet you there.
