I AM Laura

I AM Laura

A Poem by Laura E. Aranda
"

I am hesistant to name this poem 'I Am' for I wrote a poem called 'I Am' several years ago and I don't like to duplicate titles. They are too important.

"

Loving, learning, listening and lavishing

Aware of ackwardness, an amazing over-achiever, animated

Urging self to push beyond the unseen, unreached and unknown

Rough, too rough on myself (or maybe not), too rough on my family...mostly my husband

Ashamed, ashamed that I am aware of who I am and yet have not changed

I am L A U R A

Bless you for writing this. sometimes the best thing we can do is take a moment to reflect on ourselves.

You display many admirable characteristics, and even if you need to change some things (don't we all!), it is nothing to be ashamed of, because those changes are often coming in baby steps that we can't always quite see.

I think the fact that you have written this little bit of reflection is a testiment to that.

Also, this piece is leaning toward some nice alliteration. good job!

Dear Laura,

This is a brilliant poem. The closing line "Ashamed, ashamed that I am aware of who I am and yet have not changed" is incredibly perceptive of a human fault that nearly all of us have.

Fantastic! Get work!

Kindest regards,

Rick

OH! this was good poem about one's self (Reminded me of a female version of JAMES T KIRK for some reason. If you're a star trek fan you'ld understand.)

It's good to see someone who can admit to their own faults. That's a rare gift these days.

Nicely done.

"ashamed that I am aware of who I am and yet have not changed"
My greatest fear is that when I stop trying to achieve something and look back over what I've accomplished in this life, I'll also be ashamed. Perhaps that's why we're so hard on those around us. We don't want them to ever feel the shame we see in ourselves.

Thanks.
