Sis. Becky

Sis. Becky

A Poem by Laura E. Aranda
"

I dedicated this poem to a real woman who is ancient and goes to my local church...It is real folks! I wrote this years and years ago...I got the idea from some silly book and just applied to HER....

"

Here comes Sister Becky walking down the aisle

I sure wish Sister Becky would smile

She looks slightly bored

Not like one who loves the Lord

The 'sister' before her name is just a courtesy gesture we say before addressing any of the women in our church

This is short and cute. I like the way you've written this. I've always found it strange how people who go to church always look so sad or angry when they walk or out of church. Isn't that a place to be happy?!

Great poem!

P.S Good luck in my contest :)
