Sunshades on Lifeboats

Sunshades on Lifeboats

A Poem by Laura E. Aranda
"

finally...just rants balled up inside that want to come out...a confused tangle of thoughts and words right now....but a start...finally something!!

"

Like irredescent shades keeping away the glare

what else is failed to be pointed out

what else is covered and unseen due to protection

Waves rock and we stumble

bumble

and float through this rocky wave of liquid

Chameleon eyelids half closed with boredom

Life passing us by

Wanna-be passengers flail on by

This is no more than Noah's Ark?

Scrambling for a hand hold

Splinters is all they recieve

Our shades are no more than an excuse

What else other than the bright rays are we keeping out

Which of us forgot this was a life boat?

The title caught me...and the body of the piece didn't dissapoint.

"Chameleon eyelids half closed with boredom. Life passing us by" This particular part stood out..

Imaginative, and it paints a picture without going overboard. (pardon the pun :P ) Well done.
