Texas

Texas

A Poem by Laura E. Aranda
"

Officially a new transplant to Texas and am in love with this grand state. Truly it is God's country--this poem is so much bigger and larger than the beginnings you will read here...I am starting.....

"

And with long outstretched gentlemanly arms,

He swept me up, bruises, cuts, wounds and all

Into his strong embrace

No questions asked

He waltzed me off my bloody feet

Taking care of my every need

Cowboy boots, spurs, and his hat intermingling with

My Louisiana marsh scent

Spanish moss hanging madly from my hair

Caught there in my escape
