My Last Goodbye

My Last Goodbye

A Poem by ~a.wall~
"

This was written when I had to decide whether or not to leave the life I had gotten used to living.

"
By the time
you read these words
I'll have just
made you return

To a life
you hate the most
and a dream
I will hold close

As this day
comes to an end
And the lights
Flicker out

You'll see a smile
fake and grim
till you hide
from the aisle

Of the pain
and misery
in the rain
soft and sweet

But im not here
to say goodbye
I'll just promise
to stay alive

"But I'm not here to say goodbye....I'll just promise to stay alive"

Sounds somewhat involuntary, like the promise is something choked up to keep face.
Overall though, really enjoyed the flow and rhyme of this piece. Kept my attention, Well written, Good job.
