Instinct

Instinct

A Poem by Austin Hennings

Instinct
Like butterflies and honey
When the bees split
Lost in the wanderlust
Fragile state of solace
Cracks in the skulls
Brought on millions of years before
Still remain stagnant in the eye of the current hour
Makes my head roll right off my shoulders
Until the hurricane winds blow it back on
And we sleep
