Fallen wordsA Chapter by echoChapter 3
My hair was completely messed up that day and I decided I would go to school earlier than usual. The wind wasn't on my side, I could feel my insides freezing. My breath was visible with every sigh I made, every step was like walking on wooden sticks.
But I couldn't care less about the wind, or the cold weather. Because the spot next to the curtain was empty. I took my things and sat down, trying to brush the brown mess with my fingers. I found myself looking at the dark curtain which was now moved to the side, letting the light creep inside, barely touching the ends of her desk. I sighed and put my hands over my head, brushing my bangs backwards and with them my worries of never meeting Alicia Rivers, never talking to Alicia Rivers, never seeing Alicia Rivers... ''Excuse me.'' A voice made me open my eyes and I realized I'd never heard it before. Standing in front of me was Alicia Rivers, with her crystal blue eyes staring at me. If I only knew it was that easy. ''Yeah?'' I said, but it seemed more like a whisper then a clear answer. ''Could you help me?'' She seemed insecure. I raised one eyebrow and brushed a lost strand of hair, hoping she wouldn't notice. She continued. ''It's nothing much, really. Just close the curtain.'' She said. Right, The curtain. I stood up and closed the dark curtain, she was behind me the whole time. She was hiding from something. I see. She smiled at me, her eyes relieved. ''Elliot, right? Thank you.'' She took my hand and firmly shook it. Then she turned around and sat down. The distance between us looked the same as before. But I felt it change. Alicia Rivers. This might be fun. © 2015 echo |
