The Last letter

The Last letter

A Poem by St.Jimmy
"

this is a tribute to the widows of the unknown martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation

"
What does a letter mean for the family of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives?
When they were alive they wrote a letter to their families before joining the war
Likewise he also wrote a letter to his winsome wife
She didn't know that he would never come back after that war
And that letter became the last letter of his life

That letter made crystalline tears in her blue eyes
She became partly swooned when she took it in her hand
And read it with a deep sigh
While reading the letter she was crying like an infant
She put that letter on the table and uttered a loud cry

The officers say that he fought very brave
He fought against the enemies at his best
But couldn't survive their molest
And left his bonny bride alone to cry on his grave

I cursed that fatal war when I heard the cry of that widow
She looked so grieved that I asked her 'Will you able to survive'?
She stopped crying and suddenly gazed at me and replied
'I can live my life with the help of pride in being a martyr's widow '
