Sleep

Sleep

A Poem by Aureus
"

Let's face it. We all get cheated on. And so for us, here's one piece, to life's truly unfair nature. Here's to the people who were promised love.

"
I fell asleep and you left me,
Arms tethered to a broken piece.
Losing life of ruby red,
If you'll pull, then pull tender, please.

Lie distant in ashes, love pulls forth,
Amethyst roses and hands held quietly,
Sneak in and wanders, looking for,
The tenderness I once held, oh so lightly.

You scream out and then hearts speak,
They converse about leaving me.
Amethysts shattered and left alone...

Now you're here,
Later you're gone.
Now you're near,
Later, you'll be a million miles away,
Then here and back, in the light of day.
Why does it have to be this way?

What was once me...
Now swallowed by bleeding...
All hope is lost,
Your true self's revealing...
I gave you my all,
Oh when will I be receiving?

If I fall asleep tonight,
Will you still be leaving?
