SolaceA Poem by AureusA poem for when you are alone, or with someone, but feeling alone. Even when you're just, plain left out. Heartbroken? Maybe.
Was I not worthy of your love?
For you often seem to look For another perfect man to please The hungry souls you took. Was I too unconvincing, Undeserving of the truth, That you'll go out with me and him And a few friends to boot? No, never did I speak of it, But I did understand That you could kiss and hug him While I closely held your hand. And all those silent moments, I did thought that they were grand Until I found out, in your ship I wasn't in command. I'm lonely yes, I do admit I'm begging for attention; The love and care you promised me That you now seldom mention. Now I sit, I lie in wait, And I hope it's not too late To tell you... I'm alone. I'm lonely. I'm screaming, can't you hear? The only solace I could hope for is to see you standing here.
