As We Dance

As We Dance

A Poem by August R Lalanne
"

A short poem of the life and memory of another. A beloved girl shares a memory in a place she always knew of someone she will always love.

"
A midnight train sure to come as the wind blows so silently.
I stand on the over look gazing into the cloudy night sky.
The steam flows into the clouds into the deep night sky.
This train comes and goes daily and nightly.
When we were children we used to climb above the trains top.
We would sing and dance and yell out to the world.
You and I had it all dancing away the pain and memory's.
We told each other everything.
But something was different that night we climbed up so high.
You had been silent.
Your eyes glazed over the clouds in the sky.
Your song didn't sound the same.
You said you wounder why we exist.
I was so young and so naive to think nothing of it.
Never did I think you would get onto the train.
Never did I think we would not dance again.
Why my dearest friend didn't you tell me.
We could have gone together.
We could have dance one last song.
(A picture of a male in a newspaper flying out of her hands.)
