CAT AND MOUSE

CAT AND MOUSE

A Poem by Audrie
"

some women are very skilled in this behavior

"

Like a mouse dangling from a cat's mouth

I shall nibble you and push you about'

I shall play with you

then let you go

I'll invite you back and then let you know

that I am a cat and I play like that -

it's not really my fault

and I must admit that

momentarily my mind comes to a hault

to think about my possible faults

but then I remember that it is my organic nature-

to hurt you, scare you and desert you

only to come back and devour you
