More Than a PoemA Poem by Audri Carlevarowe are puzzles, a bit of life on each piece that i hand to you and you pass to me. misshapen, and never quite where we’re meant to be
its not that i see
the constellations or the ocean in your eyes or that your heart beats the beat of a thousand war drums. its not that your voice is the sound of the angels singing their symphony its not that you are perfection in its purest form. its not that you are a poem, so easily written, or the words so carefully selected. you are more than a description, more than a line in a song, or a wave on the sea. you are more than the stars, more than whats lies beyond life. you are not perfect, but thats why you are perfect for me. we are puzzles, a bit of life on each piece that i hand to you and you pass to me. misshapen, and never quite where we’re meant to be we are loud and we are angry we are fierce and we are desperate we lose faith, and we run from what scares us. we are people. it just so happens that somehow i am to you, and you are to me, what people seek for all of eternity. and we don’t need analogy to describe the love we possess, and the feelings we can’t bare to leave. © 2017 Audri Carlevaro |
