A Glimpse Through the Cracks

Theres an ocean in his eyes,

Drifting, dancing shamelessly

Through the ebbing water of night.

He makes me laugh when he makes me cry.

Sun shines through the windows of his soul,

Glimmering, singing mischievously.

An all encompassing show with no control - 

Hes a nightmare with a kind hold.

A million universes beneath his skin,

Swaying, mirroring my beating heart.

A gentle burn where his touch has been,

While tears sting at my trembling chin.

Hes a simple breeze in summer,

Shifting, breathing through the heat - 

Hes a question I can’t answer,

The simmering touch of a hopeful lover.

The brightest star high in the sky,

Shimmering, glowing for all to admire,

Hes the gaze I cannot deny - 

The only one that makes my spirit fly.

Hes a brick wall,

Standing, glaring down at me,

An ominous presence to beat them all,

And he’s got my heart on call.
