Your Violets Were Blue

Your Violets Were Blue

A Poem by Audri Carlevaro

Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Sometimes I remember
That I miss you.
You fucked with my head,
Wrecked my heart,
And when I walked away "
It was a whole new start.
Sometimes I remember
Your face and voice,
Bad habits and hobbies,
And think back on the choice
That I made that day.
I say you broke my heart,
But it was all me.
Because roses are red,
Violets are blue,
And I was completely
In love with you.
But you made it clear "
I was an obligation at first
And I was too young to hear
That that had changed.
But when I said goodbye "
Wished you from my life,
It was hard to ignore
The fact that you didn’t fight
My departure.
So yeah, roses are red,
And your violets were blue,
But when it came down to it "
I was nobody to you.

This is good. I'll say some edges needs a little bit of smoothening though, but one can easily overlook that. It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Keep writing.
