Infinite

Infinite

A Poem by Audri Carlevaro
"

I could write a thousand words, but there will always be more.

"
I feel like I'm forgetting me,
because when he's near,
my knees go weak,
and my heart stutters angrily.

He's the poem in my head,
the one I can't get down.
I could write a thousand words,
but there will always be more.

I feel like i'm forgetting me,
because nowhere in my mind,
is there a poem to describe
Why he haunts me,
Why no word is right.

Words were once my solace,
but then he showed up,
and somehow they became him,
and he was endless.

Great write here Audri, I love the tale as it is familiar to me as well. I must be part of the human condition to love like this. I enjoyed reading your words.

My first love and I had known each other since we were 5 or 6 years old. He was and still remains everything to me, and every poem I have written will always contain traces of him. Being with him shaped me into the person I am today, and even though we have to move on, it is okay to include them in our day to day lives, so long as it dosn't begin to control us. I love your poem, all the best.
