TOLD IT WILL BE

Told it will but will it be a true reflection of her?

It will be told that growing up she was a very vibrant girl

A God fearing child who attended church services faithfully

Always urging her family to pray and walk in God’s way

She was the most talkative of her siblings and never afraid to express herself

She had an entrepreneur’s mind at a tender age which she pursued

It will be told and yes, may be true up to this point

 

Told it will be that as a young woman, she became an introvert!

Yes! That is how they will refer to her change from being talkative

To being that quiet and withdrawn young woman

Although some will say that she became a ‘snob’

They will attribute this to her being focused….REALLY????

 

Told it will be that she was a strong woman

Always willing to give a helping hand whenever possible

Always giving a listening ear to people’s problems

Always housing people even those she wasn't related to

Always going out of her way to make others comfortable

 

Told it will be today as she lays here listening helpless and quiet

Quiet because she cannot save herself from what she has become

Quiet because deep down she wishes that someone could listen to her

Someone could give a chance to tell them who she really was and how she came to this!

 

Given a chance she would tell them that she was never really an introvert or a snob

Nor was she a strong woman but a young person who was forced to become mature by circumstances

She became quiet because everyone saw her as strong and no one gave her a chance to share her pain

She was always ready to help because she hoped deep within her that someone would return the favor

She hoped until she lost the strength to think positively!

 

Slowly she turned to alcohol to give her courage to face each day

She tried pot but it was too much for her

Then she tried sex and walah! It turned out to be the most comforting

Until she realized that the comfort only lasted when she was in the act

She became suicidal and did everything in her power to do it as quietly

And with as little attention as possible

That is how she ended here in this lifeless condition

 

Told it will be as she listens helplessly only wishing that

With the same strength and effort, they would have rescued her

Before she hit rock bottom, before she lost herself somewhere

 

Told it will be and she will be judged harshly

She will serve as an example to other young people not to fall in the same trap

And sadly she will remain as part of the statistics

Told it will be and her chapter closed!
