Reflections Within

Reflections Within

A Poem by audacicity

In self's acceptance, moral truths unfold,
The essence of life, a story to be told.
To feed the hungry, forgive, love in Christ's name,
Noble virtues that elevate life's grand aim.

Yet deeper still, a profound truth lies,
Within oneself, the hidden ally defies.
The beggar, offender, enemy concealed,
In our own mirror, their presence revealed.

No longer love and long-suffering the theme,
A twist within, a self-critical scheme.
We turn on ourselves, condemn and berate,
The hidden battles that within us await.

In the silent struggle, we confront our own strife,
The enemy within, seeking the alms of self-kindness rife.
For to love the least, in our own hearts, we find,
A journey within, the epitome of humankind.
