The golden spike

The golden spike

A Poem by audacicity

They say that we have two lives
The second one begins when we realize we have one
And take advantage of the nature's greatest privilege
By becoming who we truly are
By stopping living in the trance of social expectations
and seeking to everyday transcend our wretched selves
when shall I wake up from my uneasy sleep?
and
where then shall I place my golden spike?
to separate the dreamlike existence
and a new life where I live everyday
To go after my deepest yearn
and achieve a higher form of being.

I see I am the first to review your words..
Although I really enjoyed it I did not see it as a poem (forgive me if I am wrong)
but more like a page from your journal.
Your thoughts are quite wonderful..the first two lines are my most favourite.
