Hope

Hope

A Poem by Atticus Langston

Today Apollo's kingdom shines,
and Emily's bobolinks do sing.
Down King George falls,
and the Nubian prince rises.

Hope has come,hope has come,
Hope has arrived the prophets cry!
Today is the day the mourners wake,
today is the day the Good Lord spake:

Dear sons, Dear daughters
Babel made you your brother's enemy.
Now it must fall,
in the spirit of harmony.

My dear sweet children,know that
your prayers fall not on deaf ears.
Today is the the day you'll be rid
of your fears.

But please do remember,
to not harbor false hopes.
For troubles lay ahead,
but with them you'll cope.

I have sent you a servant,
for you shall he fight.
And once the battles are won,
your dreams will take flight!
