Fear God, Fear God

Fear God, Fear God

A Poem by Atticus Langston

Fear God, fear God, fear God they tell me,
or He'll never ever ever love me!
Must be His servant, must be His slave,
must spread His message like ol' King Dave!

Fear God, fear God, fear God they tell me,
or He'll never ever ever help me!
I'll sin and sin my way to hell,
and fall to the bottom of that Flaming Well!

Fear God, fear God, fear God they tell me,
or He'll never ever ever save me!
Through those Pearly Gates I'll never go,
on a boat towards Lucifer, I'll row and row!

Fear God, fear God, NO I WILL NOT,
AND MY BEAUTIFUL SOUL WILL NEVER ROT!
For when I stopped fearin' He finally came,
and those who warned me just withered to shame...

Just withered to shame.
