Here You Are

Here You Are

A Poem by Amanda Trerotola

Shadows swarmed every corner you touched
Until you released the painfully gorgeous demons
The demons that dominated every choice you made
Except, here you are
The breeze is brushing your face
And your smile is convincing
You are
Truly
Living.
Here you are,
alive.

Wow, incredible detail in such a short poem. Great feelings from simple pleasures in life.

This is a superb work that captures the simple joy that is life. So often, we forget the joy of just being alive in the world. Your poem is an excellent reminder to simply savor each living moment.

I feel line 2 is a tad wordy for the musicality, and in Line 4, I'm almost certain your intention was to write "except" not "accept", but this is otherwise very moving, sweet, a great feel-good poem! Well done!
