Seashore Highway

Seashore Highway

A Poem by Paisley Jane
"

...My footprint has not imprinted more Than the shifting sand has evicted...

"
I walked the seashore highway
Turbulence took my sandy hair
Around that desolate solace
I found something of familar air
Familar yet I couldn't explain
A new emotional wave crashing
Perhaps sunset's kiss cascading
Or seaweed's tumbling thrashing
No, I have never walked here before
Among these starfish memories
My footprint has not imprinted more
Than the shifting sand has evicted
Broken dreams that remind me
Of things I thought I left buried
Drowned sandcastles I dare not see
Your loving memory dancing
In deep shifting dunes of reality blown away
Reality that is now a wish on sand dollars
And this familar seashore highway
