Waterfalls

Waterfalls

A Poem by T M Atkinson

Lines of entrapment are shadowed by all that we hide,
And mid-morning radio playing the songs of our time.
There's waterfalls flowing and everyone's sailing away.
There's waterfalls flowing and daydreams are fading away.
But someone is cornered they seem to be all closing in,
They think that they've found the secrets you hold deep within.

So please don't run away or go away for everyone wants you at home,
Don't plan you to walk out for everyone wants you at home.
We just want a phone call to get you to tell all that you are feeling ok,
But everyone here will tell you they want you to stay.

If fruits of temptation are trying to lead you astray,
And beautiful creatures are soaring and flying away.
There's waterfalls coming and no-one is loving their life,
There's waterfalls drifting and someone should lift up your mind.
But TV airtime has taken the things that you hold so close,
Repeats of the soaps has taken the things that you know.

They've taken your dreams and all that you wanted to be,
They've raided your thoughts and found only pictures of me.
They're draining the waterfalls of water that's clear and free,
They're draining the waterfalls and memories go rushing up stream.
But if we keep holding there's a chance that we may survive,
But if we should die I know that our love will still be alive.

So please don't run away or go away for everyone wants you at home,
Don't plan you to walk out for everyone wants you at home.
We just want a phone call to get you to tell all that you are feeling ok,
But everyone here will tell you they want you to stay.
