My Ego and I

My Ego and I

A Poem by T M Atkinson
"

A battle between the self and the soul

"
My ego and I hopelessly devoted to me,
A season sublime coming through and making a scene.
And there is nothing to make me think otherwise.
I know I feel I sense that I am so in touch with fate and now I've got to go.
My ego and I hopelessly devoted to me,
And now that I find an answer to the question I seek.
And all thats around me it drenches me with fame.
And count on me to f**k up when I see that all I've ever wanted was you.

My ego and I hopelessly and utterly beat,
And a beautiful lie spinning round my head as we speak.
There are no more reasons soon I will see who I am.
I think my way is not the brightest way to go but I will always have my guiding light.
My ego and I hopelessly pathetically cruel,
A tear in my eye affection in perfecting a fool.
And all my feelings race around me and stray.
To think that my feet won't touch the ground and I'm a force that makes the loudest sound.

And how I need it to be hopelessly devoted to me,
How I need to feel it longing to be hopelessly devoted to me.
My ego and I hopelessly devoted to me,
My ego and I longing to be parted and free.
We are two yet stay as one,
My ego and I longing to devote to someone.
