The Sea

The Sea

A Poem by T M Atkinson
"

A lyrical poem about how calming but yet how vicious the sea can be and how a love between two people could be seen in the same way

"
I lost myself and no-one else knew my name,
No-one ever is the same but we all know who we are.
The sea is calm and so devine its awake,
But one day it just may take a step too far.
Are you afraid to go to sleep for the souls they may creep,
You shudder when I fall yet you don´t know me at all.
No mountains left to climb make space but don´t make time,
But me i´m doing fine my life and love can´t rhyme...like the sea.

I´m not myself and no-one else comforts me,
I look upon the sea that crashes on the shore.
A tragedy your life will never be a fantasy,
Grace is showered down over me and left me wanting more.
It never could make sense and it holds you in suspense,
The world´s at our expense to live as we see right.
If you never close your eyes you´d see but never realise,
And never compromise you rage and you defy...like the sea.

Are you afraid to go to sleep for the voices in your dreams,
They speak of our deceased for they beg to be adored.
And there´s no sunshine in my life there´s no golden ray of light,
No mountains left to climb yet I just want to fall...into the sea.

Again, Sylvia Plath-esque, sublime. Say no more.
