Ch6. I Need Your Help

Ch6. I Need Your Help

A Chapter by Athena Ramos

Luq entered a small cottage, it was very small that the inside of it is only a mat, a cupboard and a handmade clay stove. On the mat, was a very thin old man who seemed very calm as a stranger enters his home. He just looked up at Luq and didn't say a thing. Luq immediately got down on his knees right in front of the old man.

"Mbah, I need your help." he pleaded to the old man.

The old man chuckled. Judging by Luq's suit, the old man knew who he was. "You're an imperial army. Why would you need my help?"

            "There's this girl--"

"I can't make someone fall in love." snapped the old man.

"No!" yelled Luq. "I just have to find her."

"This girl.. It's really important for you too find her, isn't it?" asked the old man while scratching his chin.

"Yes. She stole something from the king."

"A girl? A girl stole something from the king?" asked the old man again but now in a very annoying tone.

Luq ground his teeth and hissed "Yes."

"WOW. I just can't believe that with an army like that, a girl can get away!"

"Look! She had magic powers OK! Now I know you have it too! And unless you help me find her, I'll have your head cut off!"

"Then why didn't you say so!" the old man then straighten up his sitting position. "Do you have something that she had touched?" he asked.

Luq dug his pocket for a few seconds and pulled out a piece of blue cloth. "Here." he said, as he handed it to the old man.

The old man placed the cloth between his hands and mumbled "Hanap tuk hadzihin nisa." and when he opened his hands, the cloth floated and caught fire slowly from the top. The smoke from the burning cloth then began to take shape and moved as if it was alive. The man looked confused. He blew the smoke but the figure remained the same. He kept on scratching his chin trying to think. Nothing made any sense for him.  After awhile the cloth was all burnt out and the smoke faded.

"I can't find her, can I?" asked Luq in a very hopeless tone.

"She's still alive. That's for sure." replied the old man. "But there are things around her that I've never seen before."

            "What is it?"

"Well, there's this thing that she was holding." the man paused. "It's like a tiny square shaped thing that has a numbers. Is that what you're looking for?"

"No. But what could that be?"

"It might be something that hasn't been found yet."

"Mbah, is it possible that she's in another time?"

"Time traveling is a very tricky thing son. Not everybody can do it. But yes, it is possible."

"Thank you Mbah." said Luq as he stood up. He dug into his pocket again and pulled out a small pouch filled with gold coins then handed it to the man before he left.

Add more to it. =) Sometimes knocking through a writer's block just takes writing down whatever comes to mind and then trying to make sense of it all after wards.
