Ch2. Morning Tea

                It was just another day in the fall. And as usual the leaves were falling down from the trees, the air temperature starting to decrease, and everything you do makes you feel at ease.

                On a simple old fashioned house with a balcony on the second floor there was a girl sitting on a metal chair as the lovely breeze softly blew her long red hair. She was running her middle finger around the tea cup in front of her and as she stares blankly on a tree.

                Her house was on top of a hill staring down on the rest of the neighborhood with its magnificent yet simple architectural design made by her brother Ivan. It had a big lawn in front where she had planted a lot of hibiscus which was her favorite flower. Then there were white fences as tall as her hip and a wooden mailbox by the entrance which said Ms. Kida Jose Lamangan

                 It was a congrats-you’re-in-college sort of gift from her parents and her brother. She got in University of Piraeus, majoring in Laboratory Informatics. She’s been living there for almost four years now. For the first two years she lived there with Joey then he moved to his girlfriend’s house so she’s been living alone ever since.

                 “I’m bored.” she sighed as she took a sip of tea.

                There’s really nothing to do now. No class, no projects, no nothing. Apparently when you take acceleration summer classes, you can finish your thesis by the end of the 7^th semester. Therefore, now all she had to do was to wait till the end of her 8^th semester for the trial. And now, she has absolutely no idea what to do with the rest of the semester. She needs something to do. Anything will be fine just as long as she’s not bored she thought. Cause she’s the kind of person who can’t stand not doing anything at all.

                Kida is also the kind of girl who doesn’t make close friends often. She only makes close friends with the people she trusts and the rest are acquaintances. But this doesn’t mean that she’s mean to people. No. Whenever she leaves the house, and passes by her neighbor, she smiles politely at them, ask bout their plans for the day or sometimes just a simple “How are you ma’am?” Just like normal people in a neighborly basis.

                But she actually has this one friend who’s really, really, really close to her since she moved. Her name is Rya and she lives just a few blocks away from Kida’s house. They’re just about the same age. Rya is 22 and Kida is 21. Rya also has a little brother who’s about to graduate high school named DJ, who Kida also considers a close friend.

                 “Maybe I should pay them a visit.” she thought.

I like this chapter, very down to earth. A complete contrast to the prologue. I'm interested as to how this will play out. Well done.
