Dear Emi,

Dear Emi,

A Poem by Alexandra

You know how to hurt
And you make it feel so painfully so
It’s the way you twist your words like knives
And the way you plunge each one in my heart

Solitude nights calls for crying and memory lane
I still think I’m waking up to you
I still think we’re back in Floral garden
And there are nights, I wonder if it’s you

I’m not sure what ended it
Was it your interest in other women?
Or the lack of interest in marrying me?
It’s tantalizing to know I am my greatest mistake
I’ve lost everyone, including myself

Here goes one last poem before I begin medicine
To ail this godforsaken heart
Just please know
It can be so lonely in the dark

A very heartfelt piece here. I have lived these words as well. Great work!
