![]() 213A Poem by Alexandra
In a grand classroom, sits a small woman with black glasses and an empty heart
She grows sicker by the day waiting for her love to recognize her As the days grow colder, a ring once placed on her finger is no longer there She becomes aggravated by the nonsense and politics of education It was sinking her deeper into a depression “Is everything okay?” All it took was a text and a couple classroom visits for her to realize That there was always someone peering in Watching her whither And approaching right at the acme of her deterioration “A bottle a day keeps the doctors away” Post-it notes left on her desk To pep her mood and ensure her she’s not alone Messages reminding her that there are funnier things to look at within the system than negatives Clown faces for superiors and extra hearts for our co-workers that work so hard She grew acquainted with her companionship And wondered when was the next surprise? To only remember… She can not grow too close anymore
