Lost & Found

Lost & Found

A Poem by Alexandra

Sitting on the bench
Where you used to find me
Strike conversation
Or regain equilibrium after a long absence
I find only pain in the lost memories of us & everything we embodied in this hall

It's where we went through all stages of love: encounter, initiation, maintenance, deception & moments of unrequitedness & finally, necrosis
How much time was spent fermenting such an endearing, yet troublesome relationship

And all I can think of is our final goodbye last year
When in tears, I rushed out to hold you for the last time
& we split separate ways

Unbeknownst, we'd reconnect again
