You Said

You Said

A Poem by ANDREW

"You Said"
By: Andrew Stroud

You said you'd never fallen for anyone,
As fast as you fell for me,
But you never really gave a damn,
Now, it's easy to see.
...
You said that you were lucky,
you felt like you struck gold,
you made me feel so happy,
then you threw me in the cold.

You said that I was perfect,
Amazing in every way,
but the feelings that I have for you now,
Are things I shouldn't say.

You said that I had your heart,
Right in the palm of my hand,
But I don't see how that's possible,
When you run to another man.

You said that you and him,
Are nothing more than friends,
But what we had together,
Is now memories in the wind.

You said that you'd be there for me,
Through anything at all,
But I guess if I needed to lean on you now,
All I'd do is fall.
