Lost Thoughts

Lost Thoughts

A Poem by ANDREW

"Lost Thoughts"
By: Andrew Stroud

Laying in the bed,
And I'm trying to write,
I've been staring at the paper so long,
It seems like I'm losing my sight.
...
I've always had a gift,
With the words that I write,
But my mind's going blank,
As I sit here tonight.

I wish I could go on,
about your eyes and your smile,
but every time I imagine your face,
I just sit here for a while.

I wish I could write,
About your beauty and grace,
But every time I put pen to paper,
My mind begins to race.

I've never had this problem,
At ANY point in the past,
But I'm not complaining by any means,
Because I'm hoping that this feeling lasts.

But as my luck would have it,
You're in a relationship at this time,
So I'm stuck writing these senseless words,
And wishing you were mine.
