Power Does Not Equal Respect

Power Does Not Equal Respect

A Poem by James

Clench ancient wisdom with your fist and hold it high,
For bearers of idiocy will fall, in all of their righteousness.
Our kin, laid down a path littered with knowledge, gold, and potential!
Rather, you seek out brother violence, in hope of power.
Power does not equal respect, nor does it make us equivalent!
Do you think it's maintainable under the stress of the consequences?
You have forgotten about the terror that resides down deep,
The demon that moves under my skin, the acid tongue.
My compassion is the harness for my potential,
We will come to terms with what we are.

i like how you show through dictation that knowledge gains both respect and power unlike violence which gets no respect and only power.and that to gain true potential is that we have to face the demons within ourselves and come to terms with them as she said in the last lines of your poem.
