Anti Venom

Anti Venom

A Poem by James

Eyes of Lucifer, wielding a godly heart,
Turmoil in my chest, you tore us into pieces.
Leave the shards where they belong,
You'll only get cut on the glass.
Did you think it would be this easy?
Quite frankly, it's cataclysmic.
Contradicting hypocrite, set sail for failure.
As the sand of the world slips through your grip,
You're nothing, but a garden snake, wrangling with I,
King cobra, my fangs are unforgiving,
My poison, intoxicating.
Combat the underdog and get ripped,
What else could you expect?
My love, the anti venom to your sickness,
It's a shame I only have enough for myself.

I love this. It's so wonderfully evil and sad. I'm sorry if that sounds weird, but that's the best I can come up with at the moment. Maybe I just think that because the garden snake reminds me of the snake that approached Adam and Eve. Either way, I still love it. Where did you get the idea for this? Were you inspired by another poem, a movie, a reference? I'm a sucker for poems like this one. Good job :)
