Rose-Colored Glasses

Rose-Colored Glasses

A Poem by James

You broke my rose-colored glasses, it's time for shades.
The true Queen of Hearts, but what am I? The ace of spades?
Not quite, the way I grin, call me Chessy,
This is what happens when love becomes reckless.
My heart will blossom in another place, come to terms, whelp.
Cremate my anger, I purge my misery,
The chains I've worn for too long crack and fall,
Who can stop me now that I walk free,
An inner superhero, be appalled.
