How I Cope

How I Cope

A Poem by James

Change is inevitable, so it is.
I try to keep my words credible through the loneliness,
But, really, it's nothing new to this cowboy,
I've had my fair share of shootouts,
And I realized I had lost sight, starring down a barrel in the first place.
When I should be shaking your hand, love thy enemy.
I must respect the fact that you're angry too,
After all, I put you in this position,
To get mad and spit on our traditions, don't be so vicious.
Let's be honest, shake off the fake reality, and step into my boots.
I earned this, I built this with my own two hands and this is my rebuke,
Stand toe to toe with me, I'm dying for the chance to learn more about you.
Give man imagination and he can become limitless, a self-proclaimed god.
Though, you'd rather meddle with my faith and label me a fool.
You have never been more wrong.
