Fight or Flight

Fight or Flight

A Poem by James

Cynical, let me introduce you to the reality you've denied,
All those fears made home in the root of you, deceiving you of what's inside
That inner terror is the only terror alive, you give it a voice and it cries.
We all can't be hero's, but we all start off as cowards, that's up to you.
The stress is on, the chain is pulling, pulling down all of our hard work.
It means nothing to us now, there's victory in the rubble.
A captain should sink with his own ship, so here I drown.
I forgot how to swim when I lost grasp of my love,
Maybe I deserve this, or am I forgetting how to be human?
Fight or flight, die with pride, a mindset that makes me unstoppable,
Even in death, I shall not lose, for my only true villain dies too.
