Sad Day

Sad Day

A Poem by James
"

Just wasn't a good day.

"
I guess I'll be honest and admit that my heart's heavy,
Not afraid to say I advanced before we were ready.
It was my job to be strength himself, but who am I kidding?
Dead brother, dead to mother, and an emptiness that's fitting.
Life would be easy, you know, if I didn't care.
But, I do, so I have every right to be scared.
I stand on a pedestal just long enough to be heard.
Taking more than I gave always seemed to be absurd.
Rediscover my needs in hope of becoming unmatched in your eyes,
O', but we unleashed the anti-hero, victim by surprise.
Destined for more than the every day machine.
Sometimes the only thing we can do is breathe.

That was really good rhyming, and I loved the last 2 lines.
