Gummy Bears and Lollypops

Gummy Bears and Lollypops

A Poem by Megan

She grew up too fast,
From the pressures of her home.
She felt all alone.
She didn’t fit in
with her group of
Alleged friends.
She doesn’t understand why
She is so different.
She wonders why she feels this way.
She will lend her night to tears again,
And she, will lock herself away in her room again.
When she, hears the knock on that door,
She’ll hurry to dry her melting eyes
Because they can never know something is wrong.
She doesn’t understand why
She is so different.
She wonders why she feels this way.
But she’ll keep on crying because she knows,
Deep down, there’s no reason for the despair.
She wakes up everyday,
Wishing to waste her life away.
After all, she grew up too fast,
Her teenage years have nothing left
For her.
She can’t acknowledge that she is
Anything but worthless.
She wonders why she feels this way.
She can’t figure out if she is different
Or exactly the same.
She can’t help but wonder why her
Happiness went away.

Will she ever be the same?
