you, took her breath away
and though she’s a hopeless romantic
that’s not something many can say.
and you, didn’t have her at hello
quite simply just because
all you said was hey.
she didn’t know she would fall in love.
you didn’t know you would break her heart.

we just didn’t know.
she, thought she found the one
she could spend her life with,
share her secrets with.
she fell in love for the very first time
at only age fourteen,
she wasn’t ready then, on that night.
