i know not how we may be

i know not how we may be

A Poem by seath

I know we could not stay like this forever

We could not steal the light of the night and make it ours

Whenever we rush past the glowing lamplights

Just to pour a handful of fading smiles in our eyes

I know how the doubt tastes at the tip of your tongue

I had a good sniff among your beige beliefs for bliss

You seem to be so sturdy for love, absurd, ironic love!

(Is that a kiss that I miss or a stress with a kiss?)

Never mind the kisses and the misses and embrace

Soon enough I’ll be a shadow under the two of you

Soon enough we’ll stand like strangers on a shed

We’ll shed tears not for our previous intimate selves.

….

If I were this distant star to our frail naked eyes

I’d turn my hue from a dull blue to a biting black,

For me to swallow everything in a deafening blast

Then I would be with you!------ I’m through, True.

.

….

I know we could not stay like this forever.

I know how the thought tastes as I skip through your tongue.

I suppose we’ll stand like strangers on a familiar street.

And never will shed a tear for our precious ole dear self.
