SergeantA Poem by seath"this is one of the poems which i was able to come up with during my college years"In my weary daisy roots, I walk Above the green carpet and the brooks. In the pale gleaming of spectral ray, This bloodstained riffle I carry for this today.
And as I sat beneath a cypress tree Mnemosyne came, to sit and talk with me! She breathes a word of my miseries Below the trenches and along the hostile bays.
No wonder had I in mind, Life is a battle through the time... The ground is full of foes and mines--- Allies as well, turn their back at times.
Would my horrid fears wax or wane--- While in the killing field I am traversing? Would the dark phantoms free my brain_ While in the night I am sleeping?
Life is now oozing away from me- Against this bark, my back I lay And if a croaker will be made out of me I fear not! For You are now with me.
My breath will ebb away, I believe It shan’t make
a rain in my parade, I bit the bullet in my heyday I did live a soldier’s life courageously.
