Give Me A Ride

Hey Mr. Horse
How are you today

Sure you want to eat that grass
I will gladly get you some hay

Want to take me for a ride
We can go down to the creek

I will find you a pasture
Of soft green grass
While some
Ole slippery fish I seek

Hey I got some sugar
In my pocket just right here

Daddy says
That you will like my present
But he himself
Would much rather have a beer

So I can go get your saddle
Not quite sure
I can get it on your back

You don't want the saddle

Oh well we don't need it
What the heck

K ... I just put on my boots
It took me quite some time
I'll wear them till we get to the creek
Then again my bare toes I will find

Mom says I can't be long
So we best be on our way

Come on Mr. ole horse
Won't you give me a ride today

This reminds me of a childhood memory, you did a great descrptive account with this, sounds as though you had a great childhood. Nice job with this piece, I enjoyed the ride and the photo.

Lesa, the picture and the poem are priceless, reminds me of myself growing up on the farm and my first horse. Well done.

This is such an enjoyable and refreshing read.. You brought every scene to life, I felt I was there with Mr Horse wondering if I would get a ride.

That's very cute. The little guy reminds me of me when I was little. I always wanted to go bye-bye in any mode of transportation I could find--and down to the creek? Boy, that was right down my alley!
