What Is Now My World ~ Part Two

My name is Alona.

I speak to you from a cold and bitter
Once upon a time...

My life, well disquised, to those
That profess to care.

The me, that had once been myself,
Gone long ago to behind closed doors,
Where heavy hand and sudden walls,
Has become my secrets to be hidden.

Crimes that have no foundation
My reason for heavy makeup
And sunglasses.

Yet to be written...
The nightmare, of my reality.

Escaped this cold and rainy night,
from prison walls and warden's lists,
To a small cafe, that affords me
distance from what I call home.

My two children, fast asleep
In the booth just behind me.
They are also entrapped in this web
We call living.

A tree lined street and pretty house
is what is visable of us, to a world
that lives from day to day, in the
struggle of trying to find tomorrow.

Behind closed doors, is not what it seen,
By the eyes, of those that pass.

The fragrance of scented candles,
And pets curled at burning fireplace?

In our household, pets are not allowed.
And love?
Love has long since left us.

Tonight...
Yes tonight, I will get away.

I am half way there!

Heck, Who do I think I am
Kidding anyway?

I will go home this night
And I will be beaten
For just the thought of escape.

There is really no place to go
And help for women like myself
Seems so very hard to find.

I will let the kids sleep in peace
Just awhile longer, before I awaken
them to return to our nightmare.

Sir...Oh Sir
A cup of coffee please...

Lesa!!!
This is really good. I like the way you depend on "Aspiring" to tell your whole stoty. I read the prologue ...then Chapter one.
The picture was incredible. There's just one thing that slowed me down. It was almost written as poetry, which may be what you wanted,
but it seemed to slow my pace of reading. I still was hooked, but I think it would read smoother if it weren't written in just a few lines, then spaced.
I could be wrong, because I never lost focus...so who knows. I've read so much of you work, maybe I was expecting a book
to have a different look. What matters is the content, and you have a really good base. You're right, it's a different style, but it's still
very good. How do I read more? Rain..

Wow, I love the spooky nature of this writing, and the ambience, graphic,
everything played in perfectly and I found it to be absolutely awsome,
and fun to read, especially for the time of year, I cant wait to see whats next,
again, awsome job lesa.

I love how you've done this. Very creative and I love Kitaro.
The story line is rather familiar too, unfortunately! But its all growth, isn't it?

Another poignant chapter--this one told by an abused wife and mother. Saddly, it happens this way far too often. Very lovely, Lesa--and the music is quite nice.
