For My FatherA Poem by Plitman_728there's a dip in the couch where our bodies rested, laughing together, crying together.
a web in the far corner of the ceiling, that witnessed our testaments of love, our reach toward common ground.
and the ashes in the fireplace absorbed the warmth that radiated from the moment, 5 seconds long, when your arms were around me and i felt six years old again, and everything was right.
and i let you take my hand, and show me all the things you see in me, the things i never could. and you whisper that i'm strong enough, i'm brave enough, i'm good enough, and i weep.
because it's all that really matters, to hear you say you love me.© 2011 Plitman_728Author's Note
