Taking back my ear

Taking back my ear

A Poem by asperatus_

i'm not going to justify what you've done but i'm going to let you explain yourself
i know the words you are going to say because you've said them before
i've heard them and i've heard them and now i'll hear them once more

you aren't a person
you' are just a shell
you get filled up and emptied under each nights' vale
your pleading is full of color but your act is growing pale

i look at her
that woman
you know her
she loved you
she trusted you
water in her eyes
and you're talking
are you're stalling
not saying anything new
but i know her
and you'll show her
...when she sticks around...
you're still you

i won't listen to her cry
i won't lend a shoulder
i'm done
i won't listen to her defend you when she wants validation
too weak a signal, permanent buffering from frustration

it's your pillow; it's your head to rest
how you sleep is your business

but you are no longer my guest

Great poem. I get the sense that you've put a lot of feeling into it.
